DENVER - The United States Collegiate Ski Coaches Association (USCSCA) announced the winners of its annual National Coaches and National Skiers of the Year, as voted on the by the association's membership. UVM senior
Ben Ogden was named Men's Nordic Skier of the Year for the second time in his career.
Ogden was dominant for the Catamounts in the EISA this season and continued that momentum to the NCAA Championships where he won both individual NCAA Championships in strong fashion. He won the 10k Classic race to open the championships and then two days later took home the 20k Freestyle title. In all on the season, he won all five races around his Olympic pursuits, including both East Regional Championships and both NCAA Championships. He was named All-East First Team by EISA and earned First Team All-American honors in both NCAA races.
Ogden also represented the United States at the 2022 Beijing Olympics this winter. It was his first time at the Olympics. He finished 12th in the Men's Freestyle Sprint and 9th in the Team Sprint.
In addition, a total of 10 Catamounts were named to the USCSCA All-Academic Ski Team. To qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative 3.5 grade point average and have competed in one of three NCAA Regional Championships held at the end of February.
