Vermont's offense exploded for 17 goals en route to a 17-10 win over Binghamton to clinch the top seed and hosting rights for the upcoming America East Tournament.
David Closterman scored two goals and added four assists for the third time in the last four games while
Thomas McConvey scored the 100
th goal of his career in a four-goal effort.
Tommy Burke went 21-for-27 at the faceoff dot to go with 10 ground balls and

BURKE NABS WEEKLY AWARD
For the second time this season,
Tommy Burke was named the America East's Defensive Player of the Week. His near-80% performance on Saturday against Binghamton marked the fourth time he's been 70-percent or better this season. Earlier this year he became Vermont's all-time leader in faceoff wins passing Luc LeBlanc.

CATS IN THE RANKINGS
UVM finds itself in the thick of the national rankings in a number of categories. The Cats rank second in the country in man-down defense killing penalties at a .780 clip and they rank seventh in caused turnovers per game (10.07). Vermont's scoring defense ranks fourth nationally giving up 8.79 goals per game. Individually,
Nick Alviti is 19
th in the country in caused turnovers per game.
Ryan Cornell ranks second in goals against average and is eighth in save percentage while
Tommy Burke sits fifth in faceoff winning percentage.

SCOUTING THE SEAWOLVES
Stony Brook enters the weekend with 9-4 overall record and 4-1 mark in league play. The Seawolves are fresh off a 13-11 win at UMBC and have won four straight dating back to April 5. Kevin Mack and Dylan Pallonetti – last season's conference Rookie and Offensive Player of the Year – lead the Stony Brook attack combining for almost eight points per game. First-year goalie Jamison MacLachlan has started the last two games in cage for the Seawolves and enters the weekend with a .641 save percentage.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday's meeting will be the 26
th all-time between the Catamounts and Seawolves with the latter holding a 21-4 lead in the series. Vermont won both meetings last season including a 10-7 win in the conference semifinals. Three of Vermont's four wins in the all-time series have come under
Chris Feifs. Stony Brook is 10-0 against UVM on Long Island.
