BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont men's lacrosse senior
Thomas McConvey, a Business Administration major, is our final TD Bank Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2021-22 campaign.
The senior midfielder scored five goals and added an assist in Vermont's 15-3 win over Manhattan in the NCAA Opening Round last Wednesday. It was the Catamounts first-ever NCAA Tournament win in their second straight appearance in the tournament. With his five goals in the contest he became the first Catamount in program history to reach 60 goals in a season.
McConvey had 60 goals and 14 assists this season for 74 points. It was the fourth-highest total in program history. Only Scott Montgomery '86 recorded more points in a single season as a Catamount. Montgomery had 75 points in 1985, 82 in 1984 and 85 in 1986.
He was also just the second Catamount ever to be named America East Offensive Player of the Year (Ian MacKay – 2018) after leading the league in scoring with 43 goals this season. He was also named All-Conference First Team and to the All-Academic Team.
