SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Vermont Athletic Department hosted its annual Catamount Golf Classic presented by Baker Distributing on Monday, May 23 at Vermont National Country Club in South Burlington. The shotgun scramble tournament raised funds that will be used for student-athlete scholarships in an effort to continually enhance the student-athlete experience. The athletic department would like to thank all the golf participants and sponsors that helped make the day such a success again this year.

Each golfer received a V-Cat Nike backpack. On the course, Steve Gentile, Vermont Basketball PA Announcer, sponsored a $10,000 cash prize for hole in one prizing and the Windjammer held a tee party providing giveaways to participants. Coaches and athletic staff members were on hand throughout the day and assisted with delivering beverages (donated by Baker Distributing and Coca-Cola) to golfers during their round. Lunch was provided to golfers upon arrival by Kountry Kart Deli along with Cabot Cheese. PC Construction was also on hand during registration with renderings of the facility project and providing golf balls to all participants.
Following play, participants were greeted by Athletic Director,
Jeff Schulman '89, as he acknowledged UVM coaches in attendance and thanked donors, fans and sponsors. A buffet was served and silent auction items included New York Giants tickets and parking (provided by Bryan Cairns), a Cabot gift certificate, and a foursome to Burlington Country Club. America East, the Boston Red Sox, Hockey East and the UVM Bookstore also provided gift packages for the silent auction.
Susan Titterton won the SymQuest 60 degree Cleveland pitching wedge in the women's closest to the pin contest with a distance of 33 feet 7 inches. On the men's closest to the pin contest, Mason Graddock, won the SymQuest 60 degree Cleveland pitching wedge with a distance of 8 feet 10 inches. Scott Lemieux and Margarita Warren each won $50 Windjammer gift cards for the women's and men's longest drive contests.
Foursome prizing was provided by Vermont National Country Club. First, second and third place honors for the tournament went to:
