Vermont track & field hosts the 2022 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend at Frank H. Livak Track & Field Facility. The conference championships begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday (May 7). Events continue on Sunday (May 8) at 9Â a.m. Tickets are available for purchase at
UVMathletics.com/Tickets or by visiting the Gutterson Fieldhouse Box Office on meet day. Championship action will broadcast live on AmericaEast.TV beginning at 1 p.m. on Day 1, and 10 a.m. on Day 2.

Tickets for the 2022 America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships are available atÂ
UVMathletics.com/Tickets. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for youth (14 & under). UVM students can receive free tickets to the America East Championships, courtesy of the University's President's Office. Tickets will also be sold at the Gutterson Fieldhouse Box Office, starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday (May 7), and 8:30 a.m. on Sunday (May 8). Separate tickets are required for each day of the Championships.

BACK IN '16
The Catamounts host the conference championships for the first time since 2016, when Vermont posted a total of 11 All-Conference performances, including Ian Weider's long jump championship. This weekend will mark the third time that the Catamounts have played host to the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

CATS ON THE PROWL
Seven Catamounts begin the conference championships with a No. 3 seed or better in their respective events:
Chike Asanya (100m – No. 3, 10.61s),
Bill Comstock (800m – No. 2, 1:51.27),
Mia Grasso (400H – No. 3, 1:03.13),
Jane Leighton (3000S – No. 2, 10:32.07),
DJ Snide (Decathlon – No. 3, 5624 pts.),
Lauren Triarsi (Heptathlon – No. 1, 4,589 pts.), and
Sofia Wittmann (PV – No. 3, 3.75m). Top three finishes secure All-Conference honors.

Vermont had 10 All-Conference performances at last year's outdoor championships. Amongst the returners are six Catamounts:

Sonia John (400m),
Lauren Triarsi (Heptathlon),
DJ Snide (Decathlon),
Jane Leighton (Steeplechase), and
Zane Russom (Javelin).

SIATON'S RECORD LAST YEAR
Alex Siaton set a school record on the final day of the America East Outdoor Track & Field Championships a season ago. As a rookie, Siaton posted a 400-meter time of 48.05 seconds to finish in second place and earn All-Conference honors.

Four more current Catamounts hold UVM outdoor records.
Matt Hynes logged a 3000-meter time of 8:28.78 to open the outdoor season at UMass Lowell.Â
Sonia John ran a record-setting time of 54.48 seconds in the 400-meter dash at the New England Outdoor Championships. In 2019,Â

DJ Snide ran legs of the record-setting 4x400 relay time of 3:15.96 along with former Cats,
