BOSTON - Men's Lacrosse senior
Thomas McConvey was one of six America East student-athletes named spring sport America East Scholar-Athletes Thursday afternoon by the conference office. The America East award recognizes student-athletes who have displayed academic and athletic excellence both this past season and throughout their careers. Nominees for the award must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and only one person can win the award for each sport.

McConvey is the second straight Catamount (
Tommy Burke – 2021) to win the award as the representative for America East men's lacrosse after posting a 3.66 GPA at UVM. A member of the Grossman School of Business, the Vermont senior majors in business administration.
A Third Team All-American selection by Inside Lacrosse this season, McConvey also collected All-American Honorable Mention accolades from USILA and US Lacrosse Magazine. He wrapped up his 2022 season with a program-record 60 goals and 74 total points – the fourth-most ever in a single season at UVM.
McConvey scored 12 goals in the America East tournament on his way to being named the championship's most outstanding player. He recorded a point in every game and is just the second Catamount ever named the conference's Offensive Player of the Year.
For the second straight season the Catamounts advanced to the NCAA Tournament following a regular season and tournament championship run. McConvey powered UVM to an opening round win over Manhattan with five goals and an assist.
