Dalton Graddock guided the Catamounts to their first America East Championship in 2022, tallying a program-best 14 wins. The Cats were only the third team in program history to eclipse the 10-win mark. Vermont clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, and overcame an early five-goal deficit to defeat top-seeded UAlbany 12-11 in the title game. UVM made its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance a week later against No. 12 Denver.
Under Dalton Graddock's leadership,
Carolyn Carrera and
Ava Vasile received ILWomen All-America Honorable Mention – the first Catamounts in program history to earn the national recognition. The UVM duo were also named to the America East All-Conference First Team along with
Taylor Mullen.
Statistically, Vermont had one of the top defenses in the country in 2022, ranking fourth nationally in caused turnovers per game (11.89). Carrera finished the season with the second-highest caused turnovers per game (2.89) in the nation. The Catamounts scored an impressive 13.16 goals per game on the offensive side of the field, led by Vasile's program-best 63 goals.
