CROSS COUNTRY NOTEBOOK
Vermont cross country heads to Boston for the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Friday (Sept. 23) at Franklin Park. The meet kicks off with the Women's Featured 5k race at 12 p.m., followed by the Men's Featured 8k at 12:30 p.m. Millenium Timing will be producing live results.

THE MEET
The Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown is considered as one of the top NCAA cross country invitationals in the country, and is slated to feature 24 teams on the women's side, and 21 teams on the men's side. Last year's Men's 8k Featured race was won by Arkansas, who went on to finish fourth in the NCAA Championships.

THE FIELD
No. 20 Harvard, No. 23 Gonzaga, Syracuse (RV) and Penn State (RV) headline the field in the Women's Featured 5k race. The men's field is headlined by No. 12 Harvard, No. 18 Gonzaga, and No. 19 Syracuse.

BACK IN ACTION
The Catamounts return to action for the first time since the women's team competed in the Maribel Sanchez Souther Invite at Dartmouth on Sept. 10. The Vermont men enter their second meet of the season after having the last two weekends off. The men last competed in the Vermont Invite on Sept. 3 at Hard'ack Recreation Area.

EARLY RESULTS
The men's cross country team locked up a third-place finish in their lone meet of the season so far, earning 56 points at the Vermont Invite. The women's squad tallied 100 points for a fifth-place finish in the first meet of the season, and added a fourth-place finish (114 pts.) the following week at Dartmouth.
Andrew Crompton led the UVM men in the first meet of the season with a second-place finish and an 8k time of 25:31.90.
Clare Kelly has led the UVM women in both meets this season with times of 19:10.40 (5k), and 23:35.95 (6k) at the Vermont Invite and Maribel Sanchez Souther Invite, respectively.

HOME IN THE FALL
The Catamounts will compete in the Green Mountain State for the second time this season when they host the Fall Foliage Invitational on Oct. 16 in St. Albans. Vermont will race against Bryant, NJIT, and Sacred Heart at Hard'Ack Recreation Area. The meet is slated to start at 1 p.m.
