THE FIELD
The Catamounts are of 12 teams slated to compete at the Middlebury Winter Classic. Vermont, Castleton, and Middlebury will make up the three schools from the Green Mountain State. Amherst, McGill, Plattsburgh State, RPI, Russell Sage, St. Lawrence, St. Rose, SUNY Potsdam, and Union round out the field.

MIDDLEBURY STRETCH
The Middlebury Winter Classic finishes off a stretch of back-to-back trips to Middlebury College, for the Catamounts. Vermont competed in the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational on Jan. 14. UVM will compete at Middlebury a total of three times this season, with its final trip coming on Feb. 11.

LAST TIME OUT
The Vermont men's and women's track & field teams produced second-place finishes in the Middlebury Snowflake Invitational last weekend. The meet was UVM's first competition since returning from Winter Break. The Catamounts logged six individual victories at the invite, including a pair of wins in the 200-meter dashes with
Gabby Rausa (26.47s) and
Alex Siaton (22.86s) earning the top spot in their respective races.

FACILITY RECORD HOLDER
Jane Leighton is the facility record holder in the 1000-meter run, racing to a mark of 2:55.67 last season at the Middlebury Winterfell. The Amherst, N.H. native bested the previous record by 0.91 seconds, which stood for six years. Leighton also logged an 800-meter dash time of 2:25.02 at the Middlebury Winter Classic.
TOP MARKS
Jane Leighton has the fastest 3000-meter time in among America East competitors this season. Her mark of 9:48.05 came in a victory at the Beacon Invitational on Dec. 10.
Lauren Triarsi has the top pentathlon mark with a score of 3,272 points at the URI Pentathlon on Dec. 9.

BEFORE BREAK
The Catamounts recorded some impressive performances in the meets before Winter Break.Â
Alex Siaton posted a school-best 300-meter time of 35.12 seconds in the first meet of the season at Boston University.Â
Kayla Myers earned a pair of victories and personal-best marks at New Hampshire. The Catamounts picked up six individual victories in its final competitions before break on Dec. 10.Â
