Three Catamounts Compete at UMass Last Chance Meet

UMass Last Chance Meet
Amherst, Mass. – Emma Wapshare, Conor Moses, and Jameson Sparks all competed this afternoon for a chance to qualify for the NCAA East Regional.

"Very excited that Emma got a really big throw off today. It puts her in a strong position to earn a bid to the NCAAs. Just have to wait a few days now to see how the big conference meets go this weekend," said head coach Matt Belfield. "Conor also had a huge PR to get to the UVM top ten list. Jameson went out hard and give it a good run, but didn't improve his time for the show. He finished his career with a great winning performance."

HOW IT HAPPENED

Emma Wapshare won the javelin with a throw of 46.56 meters, which puts her in the top 48 for javelin in the East Region. It is also the fourth-longest throw in the program's history.
Jameson Sparks won the steeplechase with a time of 9:06.91.
Conor Moses came in fourth in the javelin with a throw of 59.59 meters, the ninth longest in program history.

The Catamounts will return to action tomorrow when they compete at the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Fairfax, Va.
