COACH'S QUOTE
"No one likes a tie game but this afternoon's match versus Yale was a good effort by us," Head Coach Todd Woodcroft said. "Offensively we are having a challenge to finish on our chances - but the positive thing is that we are getting chances. We had over 30 shots on net again. Our PP chipped in and our PK was excellent. Good blocks to build in for next week.  I'm pleased with the effort today."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Briggs Gammill opened the scoring for the Bulldogs 11:07 into the first period. Oskar Autio made an initial save on a shot from the slot by Niklas Allain, but the rebound came to Gammill and he stashed it home on his backhand for his fourth goal of the season.
  • Vermont equalized with 56 seconds left in the first period on the power play. Robbie Stucker passed across the slot to Jacques Bouquot and he wired a wrist shot past Yale's Luke Pearson for his fourth power play goal of the season. Andrei Buyalsky earned the secondary assist on the tally.
  • Pearson and Autio were strong in the final two periods keeping things square through regulation. Autio made 14 saves in the final 40 minutes while Pearson made 17.
  • The Catamounts outshot Yale 3-1 in overtime but neither team could break the deadlock.
  • In an exhibition shootout that doesn't count officially Yale defeated Vermont 2-1. Will Zapernick scored on the first attempt for the Catamounts.
