SKIING NOTEBOOK
After winning the first three carnivals of the EISA campaign Vermont will look to rebound after narrowly being defeated last weekend in the Harvard Carnival by the Dartmouth Big Green. The 2023 Williams Carnival sees the Catamounts heading to Jiminy Peak for the alpine races in Hancock, Mass. while the Nordic team will compete at Prospect Mountain in Woodford, Vt.

MEN'S NORDIC SQUAD SETTING THE TABLE FOR THE CATAMOUNTS
The Vermont men's Nordic team has been almost unbeatable during the 2023 carnival season.
Ben Ogden has won four races,
Jacob Nystedt has won two races and the men's relay team won at the Harvard Carnival last weekend. Catamounts skiers have claimed 12 of the 21 podium places in the seven individual races this season.

LAST TIME AT THE WILLIAMS CARNIVAL
This will be the first Williams Carnival since 2019 and it will actually be the first-time Nordic races have been at Prospect Mountain since 2018 as the races were moved to Lake Placid for the '19 edition.
Joachim Jagge Lindstol finished second in the slalom and third in the giant slalom four years ago.
Mathias Tefre also earned a podium with a third-place finish in the slalom.

Anna Bizyukova won the 10k Classics. UVM finished second in the carnival with 843 points.
CATAMOUNTS RETURNING AFTER RUNNER-UP FINISH IN 2022
At the 2022 NCAA Skiing Championships hosted in Utah the Catamounts finished second overall with 511.5 points. It was their second National Runner-Up in the last three seasons.
Ben Ogden became the third Catamount in program history to sweep the Nordic races claiming the national title in the 10k Classic and 20k Freestyle. Vermont received 11 All-America citations in total.

HISTORY OF SUCCESS
The Catamounts second place finish at the NCAAs marked the third time since 2014 UVM has been National Runner-Up. It is the seventh time under Director of SkiingÂ
Bill Reichelt the Catamounts have finished in the top-three. Vermont now has 6 NCAA team championships, 72 individual national champions, 409 All-American citations and 38 EISA Championships in program history.
