MEN'S LACROSSE NOTEBOOK
The Vermont men's lacrosse heads back out on the road to begin America East play on Saturday afternoon with a trip to New Jersey to take on NJIT.
All the action gets underway at 12 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN+ for domestic viewers and AmericaEast.TV internationally.

LAST TIME OUT
The Catamounts dropped their third straight contest last weekend – a 12-4 decision to visiting UMass at Virtue Field. UMass stretched a 1-0 first quarter lead to 10-1 at the start of the fourth and kept the UVM offense at bay over the final 15 minutes to secure the win.
George Egan made his first career start between the pipes for the Cats and made eight saves to to go along with two ground balls. The Cats got goals from
Jake Harrington,
Charles Huntley and
Griffin Fenech. For Harrington, it was his first multi-goal game as a Catamount.

Charles Huntley has scored five goals in his last three games. After a hat trick against Brown, Huntley has had single goals against Harvard and UMass.
JACOBS HEADING TO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

Stone Jacobs was named to the 23-man roster for the Haudenosaunee Confederacy for the World Lacrosse Men's Championship in San Diego, Calif. Jacobs suited up for Haudenosaunee this past summer in the World Lacrosse U21 World Championship where they finished with a bronze medal.

CATS VS. AMERICA EAST
Last season on their way to a second consecutive America East crown, UVM was dominant against league opponents. Vermont outscored America East competition 129-59 over the course of the regular season and America East tournament in 2022. The Cats are 13-2 in their last 15 regular season conference games including perfect 6-0 last year.
SCOUTING THE HIGHLANDERS
Off to its best start in program history, NJIT enters the weekend with a record of 2-4 and has won two straight games. The Highlanders trailed by three in the fourth quarter last weekend and came back to win on a last second shot against the Lions. Jack Bowie leads NJIT in scoring with nine goals and Garrett Muscatella earned America East Offensive Player of the Week honors after his four-goal performance against Lindenwood. Liam Brown leads the conference in saves per game (15.83) while the Highlanders as a team win faceoffs at just over 51%.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont has controlled the all-time series between the two teams leading 4-0. In the two matchups since NJIT joined the America East, UVM has outscored the Highlanders 31-5 including a 17-2 victory in Newark two years ago. Last season, four Cats scored two goals in the victory led by
Brock Haley,
Griffin Fenech and
Jonas Hunter in UVM's 14-3 victory.
