TORONTO, Ont. – Vermont men's basketball guard,
TJ Hurley, has been chosen to represent Team Canada in the 2023 FIBA U19 World Cup in Debrecen, Hungary. The event runs from June 24 to July 2.

Hurley and Team Canada will begin group play against Spain on Saturday, June 24 at 2 p.m. ET. Group play will continue on June 25 against China at 9 a.m. ET, and will conclude on June 27 against France at 6:30 a.m. ET. Fans can tune into the action live on

Team Canada has medaled in two of the last three FIBA U19 World Cups, earning gold in 2017 and bronze in 2021.
Hurley, a native of Pelham, Ontario, averaged 5.1 points and posted a 41.2% three-point percentage for the Catamounts as a first year in 2022-23. Vermont was 17-0 in against America East opponents with Hurley in the lineup. He was the first Catamount named to the America East All-Rookie Team since 2019. Prior to Vermont, Hurley was named a 2022 Biosteel All-Canadian.
