MILITARY APPRECIATION PRESENTED BY MILTON CAT
Thursday's game against the Pioneers will be the Catamounts annual Military Appreciation Day Presented by Milton Cat. We encourage fans to visit with our friends from the
Josh Pallotta Fund, a local non-profit which provides critical services to veterans and active military personnel. As a thank you to those who have served or are currently serving, all military personnel will receive a complimentary ticket to the game with a valid military ID.
EARLY SEASON AMERICA EAST HONORS
Kylee Carafoli earned America East Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors following her performance at FDU on Thursday, August 24. In that match she played all 90 minutes and registered four saves on her way to a 1-0 clean sheet victory. This was the first America East honor of her career.
BALANCED ATTACK
Through three games the Catamounts have attacked from all angles with four different goal-scorers.
Kate Bossert leads Vermont with two goals, including the game-winner at FDU. Junior
Bailey Ayer leads Vermont with two assists while also adding a goal to her tally. Junior
Maddy Cronin scored her first collegiate goal with the game winner against Merrimack. Graduate student
Alyssa Oviedo has also added a goal for the Catamounts. First year

Abbey Knobel have each added an assist for Vermont as well.
NON-CONFERENCE AT VIRTUE FIELD
The Catamounts are 1-0-0 at Virtue Field this season and have gone 2-1-1 overall in their last four home games on the home turf. Over their last 10 non-conference home games Vermont is 4-5-1 and have been outscored by a slim margin of 17-14. Their last non-conference home game came this season against Merrimack on August 20th where the Catamounts came away with a 4-1 victory. In that win Vermont had four different goal scorers with Ayer, Cronin, Bossert and Oviedo scoring for the Catamounts.
SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Sacred Heart enters Thursday's matchup at 0-2-1 following a 2-2 tie at home against Yale on Friday, August 25. In three games this season Sacred Heart has been outscored 5-2. The Pioneers began their season with a road trip to California where they faced San Diego State University and UC San Diego. They fell to SDSU 2-0 and lost a hard-fought battle against UC San Diego 1-0. The Pioneers are led by senior Maria Nolan and junior Grace O'Hara who each scored a goal in their tie with Yale. Kyran Thievon has anchored the net for Sacred Heart starting all three games and playing 225 minutes while surrendering just three goals. She has registered 16 saves, a 1.20 goals against average and an .842 save percentage.
SERIES HISTORY
This will be the seventh overall matchup between the teams. Vermont has won the previous six matchups by a combined score of 11-3. The last time these two teams met was in the 2022 season where Vermont defeated the Pioneers 2-0 in Fairfield, Connecticut. Last season's matchup was the Catamount's season opener where Bossert and Oviedo each scored a goal to lead Vermont. Over the last three matchups the Catamounts have shutout Sacred Heart winning those games by a combined score of 4-0. In their four matchups at Virtue Field Vermont has outscored Sacred Heart 8-3.
WHO'S NEXT
Following Thursday's matchup with the Pioneers, Vermont will travel to Hamilton, N.Y. on Sunday, September 3 to take on Colgate. The start time for the game is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. The matchup will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
