Iowa City, Iowa – The Catamounts took to the road for the first time this season as they faced off against top-ranked Iowa. This matchup was the first meeting between the two programs. Dionne van Aalsum paced the Hawkeyes to a 5-0 win as she had a hat-trick and an assist.
Sophia Lefranc and
Alina Gerke had the best chances for the Catamounts. The loss drops the Catamounts to 2-4, while the Hawkeyes move to 7-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Iowa got the scoring started early when Dionne van Aalsum scored a penalty corner off the assists from Annika Herbine and Lieve Schalk.
- Iowa grabbed a second near the end of the second quarter when Schalk finally scored after Lauren Halenkamp produced a double save to keep the Hawkeyes at bay.
- Sophie Stribos scored two and a half minutes into the third when she found enough space to put a shot past Halenkamp off the assist from Van Aalsum.
- Van Aalsum added a second a minute later when she finished off a solo run into the bottom corner.
- Van Aalsum finished her hat-trick with less than two minutes left in the game when she scored off a penalty corner from Herbine and Schalk.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ila Gunner made her first collegiate appearance when she replaced Halenkamp and recorded two saves.
