IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Catamounts returned to play this afternoon, less than 24 hours after their game against Iowa and showed no signs of fatigue as
Maddie Moran put Vermont ahead, not even three minutes in. The Catamounts controlled possession from start to finish as they shut the Warriors out behind the goaltending of
Ila Gunner and
Sophia Lefranc's two goals. The 4-0 win moves Vermont to 3-4 and dropped Merrimack to 0-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Moran got the scoring started when she scored a little under three minutes into the game off an assist from Alina Gerke.
- Lotte Kanters added her first goal as a Catamount a little over 10 minutes into the first quarter.
- After two quarters of scoreless play, Lefranc finally found the back of the net four minutes into the fourth quarter.
- Lefranc doubled her tally 10 minutes later when she scored off the assist from Reggie Hillery.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Gunner's first collegiate start saw her post a save and a shutout.
- Lefranc's two goals were the most she had scored in a single game in her career.
