HANOVER, N.H. – Vermont (4-6, 1-1 AE) scored seven goals on the road as they cruised to victory over Dartmouth (2-7) on Sunday afternoon.

"Corner execution was a major emphasis point in the game plan and the players delivered," said Head Coach Kate Pfeifer. "It's great to see their hard work pay off with five goals on set pieces today. We were able to try some different personnel in positions and continue to play tough defensively through 4 quarters, which was a win." 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Catamounts started the game off firing. In the first minute, Sophia Lefranc had a deflection goal from a Sophia Drees shot.
• Later in the first quarter, Drees was able to sneak one in the goal and Vermont took an early 2-0 lead four minutes into the game.
• In the second quarter, Catamounts continued how they started as shots were firing. Lotte Kanters and Mora Fernandez de Oliveira each provided a goal for Vermont.
• Drees continued her dominance against Dartmouth as she scored a penalty stroke midway through the third quarter.
• Drees scored a hat-trick off a reverse hit in the fourth quarter.
• Kanters would finish the game with her second goal of the day coming off a setup from Meg Weyer.

 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Vermont dominated shots against Dartmouth. They outshot Dartmouth 20 to 12 and the Catamounts had 17 shots on goal compared to Dartmouth's 7 shots on goal.
• Not only did Sophia Drees score her first goal of the season, but she scored her first career hat-trick.
• Fernandez de Oliveira had her first goal of the season.
• Goalkeeper Merle Vaandrager posted a shutout with seven saves.
• Lotte Kanters had two goals in the match. She now has three goals on the season.
• Meg Weyer had three assists and Marie Dijkstra contributed with two assists.
