Shamir Bogues had 11 first half points to lead Vermont in a 75-71 win over Delaware Saturday afternoon in non-conference action from the Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off at Mohegan Sun Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Bogues got things started for the Catamounts Saturday with four points, two steals and an assist to help UVM build an early 11-4 edge.
- The Blue Hens responded with an 11-0 run to gain their first lead of the game.
- Fiorillo nailed back-to-back three-pointers for Vermont to tie things at 17 apiece.
- Vermont would use its own 10-0 run with points from five different scorers to build a 37-31 edge late in the first half. The Catamounts stifling defense held Delaware scoreless for 4:15.
- The Catamounts took a three-point lead, 37-34 into the break.
- TJ Hurley and Bogues combined for another quick start for Vermont in the second half. A 9-2 run was keyed by a Bogues dunk and Hurley three-pointer that made it 46-36.
- Vermont was able to maintain it's edge right around 10 for the majority of the second half.
- Delaware made a run and cut it to a five-point lead with 3:31 to play. Ileri Ayo-Faleye answered with a three-pointer 21 seconds later to make it 66-58.
- Fiorillo canned his fourth triple of the game to make it an a 11-point edge with 2:24 to play.
- However, Cavan Reilly and the Blue Hens weren't done yet, they used a 10-0 run including seven points from Reilly to make it a one-point game with 25 seconds to play.
- Hurley made four straight free throws and TJ Long made two more to secure the Catamounts second straight win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- This was the Catamounts' second game this season scoring 70 or more points.
- They outscored Delaware 6-0 on second chance points and the offensive rebounds were 9-2 in favor of the Catamounts.
- Vermont's 16 made free throws and 13 assists were both season-highs.
- The Catamounts are now 3-0 this season when shooting 33.3% or better from behind the arc.
- This afternoon was the second time in Nick Fiorillo's career where he has hit four three-pointers.
- With the win, Vermont Mutual Insurance Group will donate $100 to Vermont Children's Trust Foundation as part of the Cats Wins, Community Wins Initiative.
