COACH'S QUOTE
"This is one gritty team. To give up only 3 shots on goal and secure a shutout against Albany in a semifinal was no small feat," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "I'm so proud of the way they battled, executed our game plan and got it done today."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Merle Vaandrager stopped the Great Danes first big chance with a save in the second minute.
  • Lefranc opened the scoring when she scored unassisted in the ninth minute.
  • Vermont nearly doubled its advantage in the 16th minute when Lotte Kanters, Lefranc, and Marie Dijkstra saw their shots saved in eight seconds.
  • The Catamounts withstood a last-second penalty corner from UAlbany to preserve the win.
  • Vermont now has eight total shutouts on the seaosn which is a program record for most in a single season.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • The victory over the Great Danes is Vermont's first in 16 years and the Catamount's first win in Albany since 2001.
  • Vaandrager recorded her sixth shutout of the season and third straight. She now becomes one of five Vermont players to have achieved this feat.
  • The Catamounts have scored 46 goals this year, a record under Coach Pfeifer.
