ALBANY, N.Y – Sophia Lefranc scored her third goal of the tournament as the Catamounts upset the first-seed Great Danes in the America East semifinals to earn a spot in the America East Championship game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Merle Vaandrager stopped the Great Danes first big chance with a save in the second minute.
- Lefranc opened the scoring when she scored unassisted in the ninth minute.
- Vermont nearly doubled its advantage in the 16th minute when Lotte Kanters, Lefranc, and Marie Dijkstra saw their shots saved in eight seconds. Â
- The Catamounts withstood a last-second penalty corner from UAlbany to preserve the win.
- Vermont now has eight total shutouts on the seaosn which is a program record for most in a single season.Â

- The victory over the Great Danes is Vermont's first in 16 years and the Catamount's first win in Albany since 2001.
- Vaandrager recorded her sixth shutout of the season and third straight. She now becomes one of five Vermont players to have achieved this feat.
