BURLINGTON, Vt. – One current Vermont Women's Hockey player and three former players including two alums have been named to National rosters that will compete at the 2024 Six Nations Tournament, as announced by the organization on Monday (Dec. 2). First year forward
Oona Havana (Turku, Finland) will be competing for the Finland National team alongside former UVM women's hockey player
Krista Parkkonen (Lappeenranta, Finland). Two Catamount alums, Natálie Mlýnková '24 (Zlin, Czech Republic) and Kristýna Pátková '23 (Meziborí, Czech Republic) will represent the country of Czechia throughout the Six Nations Tournament.
The Six Nations Tournament is the third competition on the annual Women's Euro Hockey Tour (WEHT) and in addition to Finland and Czechia, the tournament includes Canada, Switzerland, Sweden and the U.S.
The six countries taking part will be divided into two groups. Group A consists of the United States, Finland, and Switzerland, while Group B includes Canada, Czechia, and Sweden. Each team will compete against every other team in their group, with the top two teams from each group advancing to determine their positions in the championship and third-place matches. Finland will begin play on December 11, facing the United States at Hakametsä Arena, with the game scheduled to start at 7 p.m. local time (11 a.m. CT).
This season, Havana has played in all 19 games for the Catamounts recording 23 total shots and only committing one penalty. Mlýnková finished her UVM career in 2023-24 with 104 games played, 97 total points, 48 goals, and 49 assists, tied for fourth highest career points in UVM women's hockey history. Pátková concluded her UVM career following the 2022-23 season, finishing with 12 career points (six goals, six assists).
