BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont men's basketball team took a loss in Hamilton, NY against Colgate.
Nick Fiorillo led the Catamounts with a career-high 23 points and five threes.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nick Fiorillo returned to the starting lineup and hit a right-wing three on the Catamounts' first offensive possession.
- At the 16-minute media timeout, Catamounts were down 10-8. Hurley led the Cats with five points.
- Colgate went on a 10-0 run until Nick Fiorillo cut to the basket for an easy right-hand lay-in.
- Out of the 12-minute media timeout, Sam Alamutu hit a mid-range contested jumper as Vermont was down 21-12.
- Shamir Bogues grabbed an offensive rebound off a Jace Roquemore shot and was able to coral it and make a contested shot around the rim. Cats were on a 6-0 run as they trailed 21-16.
- With 2 minutes remaining, Vermont trailed Colgate 25-18 at the last media timeout of the first half.
- TJ Hurley and Nick Fiorillo each hit threes to end the half. The Catamounts went on an 8-3 run to close out the half as they trailed 28-26 to Colgate.
- Shamir Bogues scored the first three points for Vermont coming out of the half.
- Colgate went on a 9-3 run in the first four minutes of the second half.
- Catamounts stormed back with their own 4-0 run as Vermont was down 33-37 at the 16-minute media timeout.
- Nick Fiorillo hit a left-wing three with 3 seconds left in the shot clock. On the next offensive possession, Fiorillo hit a right-corner three. Colgate took a timeout as the Catamounts led 41-37.
- Fiorillo hit his fifth three of the game and had a team-high 19 points with nine minutes remaining. Vermont led Colgate 49-47.
- Colgate responded with their own 8-0 run and led 55-50 with five minutes left.
- With two minutes remaining, Nick Fiorillo was fouled in the paint and knocked down two free throws as Vermont was down by one (57-56).
- The Raiders responded with a basket on the other end. With 30 seconds remaining, Nick Fiorillo made a lefty layup to cut the deficit to one again. Vermont was forced to foul as Colgate's Josh Ahayere made two free throws.
