SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
New Hampshire enters Thursday's game at fourth place in the America East standings. The Wildcats were 1-1 last week with a loss at Bryant (L, 85-66) on Thursday, followed by a home victory over Maine (W, 60-57) on Saturday. UNH leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage defense, holding America East foes to a 27.2% shooting rate from beyond the arc. Offensively, New Hampshire is in the middle of the pack, ranking fifth in points per game (73.5) and fourth in scoring margin (-0.4). Preseason All-Conference selection Clarence Daniels leads the Wildcat attack and ranks third in league play in points per game (21.2), and is second in rebounding (9.6).
INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont owns a 109-50 record in the all-time series, with a 59-18 mark at home. UVM has won 24-straight meetings with UNH at Patrick Gym – its last loss came in 2000. The conference foes split the season series in 2023, with each team earning a home victory. Deloney averaged 14.5 points per game in the two meetings with the Wildcats.
HOME COURT ADVANTAGE
UVM is 39-2 at Patrick Gym since the start of 2021-22 and 96-10 (.906) since 2016-17. Vermont has won 27 straight home games against America East schools with the last loss coming to Hartford on Mar. 6, 2021. UVM's last home loss in front of fans came on Feb. 22, 2020 against UMBC – Deloney was a freshman.
DEFENSIVE REBOUNDING
Vermont ranks fifth in the nation in defensive rebounding percentage (76.8%). UVM cleaned up 60 of 64 (93.8%) of its defensive rebounds last week, including all 32 vs. NJIT. The Cats have ranked in the nation's top 20 in defensive rebounding percentage in each of the last seven seasons.
