Lily Humphrey netted the game-tying goal with just over two minutes remaining in regulation to send Vermont to overtime Saturday night from Matthews Arena.
Krista Parkkonen connected on her shootout attempt in the sixth round to earn the extra point for Vermont. With the result, Vermont stands at a 14-16-4 overall record (12-12-3 HEA).

Jim Plumer said. "Our team overcame a slow start in the first half of the game and finished strong. We have been playing good hockey over the past 4-5 weekends and this team has grown up, overcome a lot of obstacles, and we are playing our best hockey as we approach the playoffs. The playoffs are a chance to restart, and we welcome the challenge ahead."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless two periods, Vermont and Northeastern entered the final period knotted up, 0-0.
- The Huskies scored first, 10:38 into the final frame on the power play after Megan Carter found the back of the net to give Northeastern the 1-0 edge.
- With time quickly winding down, Vermont pounced back, scoring with just a little over two minutes of regulation remaining on the power play after Evelyne Blais-Savoie found Humphrey back door, wasting no time one-timing the puck past the goalie's padding for the equalizing goal 17:49 into the final period.
- In the sixth round of the shootout, the Hockey East goals leader for defenseman, Krista Parkkonen, scored the lone goal after stick handling the goalie completely out of position, earning Vermont the 2-1 win over Northeastern. Jessie McPherson made all six stops in the shootout.

Vermont looks ahead as they will travel to face the #3 seed, New Hampshire, in the Hockey East Quarterfinals. This will be the second consecutive season that the Catamounts and the Wildcats compete head-to-head in the quarterfinals of the conference playoffs.
