EAST BURKE, Vt. –
Declan McCormack and
Hanna Larsson Nathhorst finished in the top-three of the giant slalom Sunday from Burke Mountain as Vermont secured its first EISA Carnival win of the season. The Catamounts finished the competition with 859.5 points 103.5 more than second place Dartmouth.

McCormack earned his first podium of the season with a second-place finish in a two-run time of 2:04.97. His second run time of 1:01.29 was the second best in the field. Middlebury's Bradshaw Underhill earned his first career victory with combined time of 2:04.63.
Diego Holscher was 14th on Sunday with a two-run time of 2:06.60.
Cole Palchak was the Catamounts final scorer, placing 21st with a combined time of 2:07.61.
Nathhorst also had the second best second run time (1:04.44) in the women's field on her way to a third-place finish. Her two-run time was 2:11.11. Colby's Hannah Soria earned her first career win finishing .58 seconds ahead of Nathhorst.
Cydnie Timmermann (11th, 2:13.05) and
Ella Renzoni (12th, 2:13.25) close out the scoring for the Catamounts Sunday.
The EISA campaign continues next week as the teams will held to New Hampshire for the 2024 Dartmouth Carnival from the Oak Hill Outdoor Center and the Dartmouth Skiway. The Nordic teams will begin with 1.3k Skate Sprints on Friday while the alpine team is scheduled to start Thursday with an NCAA qualifier (UVM Carnival remake) before the EISA GS is contested Friday.
