VALENTINE INVITE
BOSTON - Rachel Barba, Heidi Stewart, and Carolyn Doyle represented Vermont Women's track & field in the Valentine Invite on Friday at Boston University. Barba posted UVM's highest finish of the day.

COACH'S QUOTE
"We didn't get everything we hoped for out of today, but the experiences and lessons learned will have great value for what lies ahead," said head coach Matt Belfield. "Rachel is demonstrating strength and consistency, so I'm confident with a little bit of rest that things will go very well in championship season. Both Carolyn and Heidi got into good positions early in their respective races, but had some trouble to deal with in the crowds of a typical BU 800 race. They will make adjustments and be sharp for America East Championships."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• All three women were competing in the 800. 
• Barba finished in 2:15.51, which was good enough for 138th place. 
• Stewart finished in 239th place with a time of 2:22.34. 
• Doyle also competed in the 800 and finished with a time of 2:35.78.
