SCOUTING THE RED FOX
Marist is in search of its first win of the season, after three straight losses, including its most recent defeat at Oregon (L, 9-16). The Red Fox were picked No. 9 in the 2024 MAAC Preseason Poll. Graduate student, Kerri Gutenberger, was named to the Preseason All-MAAC Team. She currently leads the team with 10 points (7 goals, 3 assists) as well as 11 draw controls. Behind her is Olivia Arnsten (3 goals, 3 assists) and Maddie Schrader (3 goals, 1 assists). Junior defender, Juliana Palumbo, has picked up 10 ground balls and has two caused turnovers.Â

Vermont has an overall 7-6 record over Marist. In the last matchup between the two teams (Mar. 9, 2022), the Catamounts came out with a dominant victory (W, 16-5) on the road.

VASILE IS UNSTOPPABLE
Ava Vasile has 22 goals in five games, ranking her third nationally in goals, and eighth nationally for goals per game (4.40). Vasile has matched a career-high six goals in each of her last three games. She also received her second straight America East Offensive Player of the Week award on Monday. Vasile has recorded 20 draw controls and has eight caused turnovers this season.

CAUSED TURNOVER LEADERS
Brittany Barton and
Kenzie Vasque rank first and second, respectively, in caused turnovers per game among all America East players. Barton has posted a league-high 2.4 caused turnovers per game. She had a season-high four caused tunovers against LIU on Feb. 23. Vasque has averaged 2.0 caused turnovers per game this season.

Rookie goalkeeper Ava Rosenberger has recorded a goals against average of 10.01 this season, which ranks third in America East.

NEW ADDITIONS
The Vermont women's lacrosse program welcomed 13 new Catamounts for the 2024 season. The incoming class is made of 11 first-years and two transfers. Two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders, and one attacker make up the class.
