Men's Lacrosse Hosts Harvard in Home Opener

MEN'S LACROSSE NOTEBOOK
Vermont men's lacrosse (1-3) returns home after a four-game road trip to start the season to play host to Harvard (4-0) on Mar. 2 in their home opener. The game begins at 12 p.m. and will be streamed live on AmericaEast.TV.

PROMOTIONS
Saturday's contest will be Vermont's Military Appreciation game, presented by Milton Cat. All active and retired military members can receive a complimentary ticket to this game upon arrival with a valid form of military ID. There will also be a team schedule poster giveaway.

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Through four games this season, several Catamounts are ranked in the top 25 in the country and in the America East. Max Frattaroli and Charlie Pope are tied for fifth nationally in man-up goals, as each has recorded three goals this season. This mark is the highest in America East. George Egan ranks 11th in the country in saves per game at 13.75 and second in America East. Henry Dodge is the fourth Vermont player ranked in the top 25, ranking 24th in the country in groundballs per game with six. He is also ranked 25th in faceoff winning percentage at 58.5 percent.

LAST TIME OUT
The Catamounts traveled to Utah last Saturday to take on the Utes and dropped the contest 22-12. Griffin Fenech led the scoring for Vermont with his first career hat-trick. Luke Reiter, Pope, and Brock Haley also recorded three points. Reiter recorded his first two career goals in the loss. Egan had 16 saves in net.

SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
Harvard has gotten off to a 4-0 start this season and has scored 23 goals twice this season as part of an offense that ranks fourth nationally. Sam King leads the scoring for the Crimson with 11 goals and 15 assists for 26 points. Graham Blake has 14 goals, making him the leading goal scorer for Harvard. Christian Barnard will start in goal for the Crimson and has posted a 10.11 goals against average this season as the backbone to Harvard's defense, giving up ten goals a game.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Saturday's matchup marks the 16th all-time meeting between the Crimson and Vermont. Harvard holds a 13-2 series advantage, as they won last year's matchup 12-5. Vermont's last win in the series came in 1991 when the Catamounts won 7-6 in Burlington.
