Sunday's matchup is the Military Appreciation Game presented by Milton CAT. All active and retired military members can receive a complimentary ticket to this game upon arrival with a valid form of military ID.
SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany is overall 2-7 on the season and 1-0 in conference. The Great Danes have one of the toughest schedules in the country. Six out of their seven losses have been to ranked opponents No. 14 Johns Hopkins (L, 10-14), No. 2 Boston College (L, 7-15), No. 23 Brown (L, 10-14), No. 3 JMU (L, 12-21), No. 1 Northwestern (L, 8-25), and No. 7 Syracuse (L, 11-20). Their two wins have been to Colgate (W, 15-7) and conference opponent Binghamton (W, 15-13).

UAlbany was picked to finish first in the 2024 America East Preseason Coach's Poll. Senior midfielder, Katie Pascale, leads the team in almost all areas on the field. She has 26 goals, 21 assists, 49 draw controls, 19 ground balls, and nine caused turnovers. She leads the conference in assists per game and points per game. She was named the 2023 America East Midfielder of the Year with 38 goals, 31 assists, 108 draws, 21 ground balls and 11 caused turnovers. She was also named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American Honorable Mention.

INSIDE THE SERIES
Vermont has only defeated UAlbany once, which was in the 2022 America East Championship when the Catamounts rallied back from a five-goal deficit to win the program's first title. The Great Danes have won the other 15 matchups. UAlbany defeated Vermont on their home turf 12-9 in the 2023 season.

It is no secret that
Ava Vasile has been dominant this season. In Vermont's most recent victory against conference opponent UNH, Vasile scored a career high of seven goals and secured 200 career goals. She earned her third Offensive Player of the Week honors this past Monday. She is ranked 6th in the country in goals (38), 10th in points (47), 11th in goals per game (4.22), and 14th in points per game (5.22). She ranks first in conference in goals, first in shots per game, and second in points per games.Â

PRESEASON POLL
UVM was picked second in the America East Preseason Poll. Reigning champion UAlbany was selected first in the poll, receiving six first-place votes. UVM edged out Binghamton – who picked up the remaining first-place votes – by one point. Voting was conducted by the league's head coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own team.
