CATS AT THE MIDWAY POINT
The Catamounts enter their eighth game of a 16-game regular season. Vermont opened the campaign with four straight wins for first time since 2014. UVM has played six of its first seven games on the road, with the lone home game resulting in a 15-9 victory over LIU on Feb. 23.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
Villanova enters the matchup with a four-game loss streak. Two of the Wildcats' recent defeats were against ranked opponents, No. 17 Navy (L, 9-18) and No. 12 Stony Brook (L, 8-20). Their two wins have come against Bucknell (W, 16-12) and La Salle (W, 14-4). Villanova was chosen third in the Big East preseason poll. Junior Sydney Pappas was selected to the 2024 Preseason All-Big East Team and was named Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-American. During the 2023 season, Pappas was named to the IWLCA Mid-Atlantic Region Second Team, Big East Co-Attacker of the Year, and All-Big East First Team. She currently leads her team in points (28) with 27 goals and one assist. Behind her is junior attacker, Sami Carey (9 goals, 9 assists). Junior defender, Amelia Ricciuti, leads the defense with 11 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. Â

AVA ON FIRE
Ava Vasile ranks fourth in the country in goals this season and has scored 29 times through seven contests. Her goals per game average (4.14) ranks 14th nationally. Vasile has tied a career-high six goals in three games this season. She ranks third all-time at UVM in career points (231) and needs only 10 points to tie for second. The program record is 255.

JANE HEATING UP
Trauger has racked up eight points (7 goals, 1 assist) in the last two games. She led UVM in its comeback victory at Marist with four goals and one assist. In Wednesday's matchup, her two goals in the first half helped give Vermont the lead against five-time reigning MAAC champion Fairfield going into halftime.

Rosenberger has a total of 43 saves on the season in six games, averaging 7.17 saves per game. She matched her career-high nine saves in Wednesday's matchup against Fairfield.Â

The Catamounts will begin America East play in a week when they visit New Hampshire on Mar. 16. Vermont will then return home to Virtue Field the following week for a matchup with UAlbany on Mar. 23.
