BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont head coach
Chris Feifs announced a veteran leadership group for the 2025 season on Monday.
Jack Combs and
Tristan Whitaker were chosen by their teammates as captains for the upcoming season.
"We are very excited to announce our Captains for the 2025 season in Tristan and Jack. These two young men embody who we are as a program and will do an excellent job leading us into the future," said head coach
Chris Feifs. "Being Voted as Captains by their peers as a Junior and Sophomore shows you the respect they garner from their teammates. Their self-discipline, respect for others, and gratitude for the opportunity to be Vermont lacrosse players are the winning combination we value in this program."
Combs is coming off a first-year campaign in which he was named to the America East All-Conference First Team, All-Rookie Team, and All-Tournament Team. Combs finished the season with 70 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. The totals are 10
th and third-most in a single season by a Catamount, respectively. He finished 25
th in the country in caused turnovers per game at 1.63 and second among all first-years.
Whitaker finished his sophomore campaign with career highs of 39 points and 29 goals. He was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team for the second consecutive year. He finished the season tied for third on the team in both goals and assists.
