BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (0-0-1) will face Saint Anselm (0-0-0) in its 2024 home opener on Wednesday, August 21. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Wednesday's matchup is the Catamounts annual Military Appreciation game presented by Milton Cat. All active and retired military members can receive a complimentary ticket to this game upon arrival with a valid form of military ID.
Josh Pallotta Fund will be onsite and tabling inside the entrance to Virtue Field.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Catamounts are 7-4-2 in home openers under Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. In last season's home opener Vermont defeated Merrimack 4-1, scoring three unanswered goals in the second half.
- Vermont returns four America East All-Conference members from their 2023 squad, Kate Bossert, Bailey Ayer, Maddy Cronin, and Bridget Kennedy.
- Vermont began its season with a 2-2 draw on the road at UConn, who is picked to finish second in the Big East. Kylee Carafoli played all 90 minutes for the Catamounts between the pipes registering eight total saves. Aubrey Bough scored her first career goal to help Vermont get on the scoreboard, followed by Ayer finding the back of the net six minutes later.
- Vermont was picked to finish fifth in the America East 2024 Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches' Poll.
- Following week one of action, Carafoli leads the America East conference in saves (8).
SCOUTING THE HAWKS
- This will be the first matchup all time between Saint Anselm and Vermont.
- The Northeast-10 Conference 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll has the Saint Anselm College women's soccer team projected to finish in fourth place.
- Last season, Saint Anselm posted a 7-6-5 overall record and a 5-4-2 conference record.
- Saint Anselm returns three Hawks that were recognized on last season's Northeast-10 All-Conference rosters. Josie Pecor (Williston, Vermont native), and Allison Silverstein each earned spots on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team while Caitlin Cormican was named to the NE10 All-Rookie Team.
