BURLINGTON, Vt. –The Catamounts begin the 2024-25 campaign on Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. hosting Concordia in exhibition action from Gutterson Fieldhouse in the teams Home Opener presented by TD Bank. The action will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Brian McLaughlin on the call. TD Bank will be giving away co-branded t-shirts to the first 250 fans in attendance. There will also be a team schedule poster giveaway at the marketing table.
TD cardholders are eligible to receive a 20% discount at the UVM Bookstore's athletic kiosks as well as free hot chocolate or coffee at UVM Dining concessions stands at Sunday's game.

VERMONT OUTLOOK
- The Vermont women's hockey team has been selected seventh overall in the 2024-25 Hockey East Preseason Coaches Poll, receiving 47 total points in the poll. The reigning Hockey East champions, UConn, was selected to finish first.
- Head Coach Jim Plumer has selected three student-athletes to lead the Catamounts during the 2024-25 campaign. Maddy Skelton and Alaina Tanski will serve as captains for Vermont while Anna Podein will be Vermont's alternate this season. Tanski and Skelton served as alternate captains last season as well.
- The Catamounts return a hand full of familiar faces including member of the 2024 Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Kaylee Lewis, who finished her first season with 10 goals and eight assists for 18 total points, good for third most amongst Hockey East rookies last season. UVM also brings back Evelyne Blais-Savoie, who earned 21 total points last season on seven goals and 14 assists, good for second highest on the team. The 2023 Hockey East Rookie of the Year, Lara Beecher, returns for her third season in a Catamount uniform after posting a 19-point season in 2023-24 on nine goals and 10 assists..
- Vermont is 1-0-0 all-time against Concordia. The Catamounts last meeting with the Stingers was in 2017, winning 2-1. Sunday's matchup will be the second ever meeting between the two programs.
- Under Head Coach Jim Plumer the Catamounts are 8-5-1 in exhibitions against Canadian teams. Since 2017-18 Vermont is 7-1-1 against Canadian teams. Vermont has given up more than two goals just once over the nine-game stretch.
SCOUTING THE STINGERS
- Concordia enters the weekend with a 3-0 record in their series of six exhibitions to open the season. They have defeated Waterloo 4-1, York 6-1, and University of Toronto 3-0.
- Concordia faces Boston University at 3 p.m. on Friday and Merrimack at 3 p.m. on Saturday before making the trek to Burlington for the exhibition matchup.
- Last season, the Stingers posted a 39-2 record, winning their second national title in three years.
