HOW IT HAPPENED
- Alexandra Sacker opened the scoring three minutes in when she scored on a penalty corner with assists from Victoria Tinghitella and Eloise Penty.
- The Black Bears doubled their lead when Olivia Geniti scored in the 11th minute off an assist from Kate Richardson.
- Poppy Lambert gave Maine a three-goal lead when she scored in the 17th minute off a penalty corner with assists from Tinghitella and Penty.
- The Catamounts had three penalty corners in the second quarter and generated three shots on goal through Sophia Drees (2) and Sophia Lefranc to put some pressure on the Black Bears.
- Vermont opened the second half on a strong note with four shots on target by Lauren Schellhamer (2), Lotte Kanters, and Drees but could not find the back of the net. They finished the third quarter outshooting Maine 8-2.
- Meg Weyer finally broke the deadlock when she scored on a penalty corner with assists from Drees and Marie Dijkstra to make it 3-1 in the 48th minute.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Ila Gunner had two saves in the first half, while Merle Vaandrager had two in the second half.
- The Catamounts outshot the Black Bears 17-10 and forced goalie Rozarie Mrazova into 12 saves. Vermont's 17 shots matched a season-high, and its 14 on target were also a season-high.
- Weyers 48th minute goal was the third of the season, which set a career-high for her.
- With the assist on Weyers' goal, Drees now has 24 career assists, which puts her one assist away from tying the record and two away from breaking it.
- Lefranc recorded her second defensive save of the season, which is a career high.Â
