BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (3-6, 1-1 AE) scored three times in the first 20 minutes as they cruised to victory over Stonehill (1-8) on Sunday afternoon.

"I think they were ready to go. We had a frustrating match on Friday to take the loss at Maine. I think the team was ready to respond and put some in the net today," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "It was fun to get our scoring going and see some field goals from some players that don't always put those numbers up and get some people some opportunities and minutes. It was a really valuable team win for us today."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Maddie Priestly opened the scoring in the seventh minute when she scored off an assist from Lauren Schellhamer.
- Marie Dijkstra doubled the Vermont lead when she tapped in a shot off an assist from Ellie Reed in the 14th minute.
- Lotte Kanters added a third for the Catamounts in the 20th minute when she scored off an assist from Dijkstra.
- Reed made it 4-0 when she scored unassisted in the 27th minute.
- Priestly doubled her tally in the 49th minute when she scored off an assist from Meg Weyer.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Merle Vaandrager had six saves in her second career start and recorded her first career shutout.
- Reed's goal in the 27th minute was the first of her career.
- Reed and Priestly both recorded their first multi-point games of their careers, with Priestly now having a career-high three goals on the season.
