COACH'S QUOTE
"It's been wonderful to celebrate and reflect on the careers these six women have had," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "I am grateful for the opportunity to have coached them, and look forward to extending this season and our time together, as long as we can."Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Catamounts struck early in the seventh minute when junior Maddy Weaver inserted the ball off a short corner to senior Sophia Lefranc, who returned a pass to Weaver for a backhand shot that found the top of the cage.
-
Lefranc had another strong opportunity in the seventh minute, carrying the ball from just past midfield to the front of the cage, but her shot was stopped by Dartmouth senior goalkeeper Ava Carlson.
-
Lefranc recorded her second assist of the day, finding junior Alicia Battistelli at the top of the striking circle for a low shot that found the bottom-right corner of the cage.
-
The Catamounts kept the pressure on in the second quarter, converting on a short corner inserted by Weaver to First-year Veerle Nijhuis. Nijhuis's hard shot slipped past Carlson and was tapped into the back of the goal by Priestly.
-
The Big Green maintained pressure with several opportunities in the third quarter. One of their best chances came in the 34th minute when junior Lucia Campaño took a shot on goal off a short corner that sophomore Merle Vaandrager saved.Â
-
In the 43rd minute, Priestly scored her second goal after First-year Isi McMahon's shot was blocked. Junior Consu de Castro poked the ball toward Priestly, who swept it into the back of the cage.
