BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Vermont men's basketball team took a 94-90 loss against Buffalo on the road Tuesday evening.
TJ Hurley led the Catamounts in scoring with 24 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Gus Yalden got a quick corner three to go out the gate, and Noah Barnett got an offensive rebound and an and-one. At the 15:50 mark, Vermont led 11-5.
- The Catamounts would go scoreless for the next four minutes, and Buffalo went on an 11-0 run until Sean Blake got an and-one layup to go. At the 12-minute media timeout, Vermont trailed 16-13.
- Vermont and Buffalo kept exchanging baskets back and forth in the next five minutes. Gus Yalden added a couple of paint buckets, and Sean Blake hit a corner three. With 7:07 remaining in the first half, the game was tied at 27.
- Gus Yalden hit a straightaway three-pointer from a pass from Sean Blake. Vermont and Buffalo continued to exchange punches as the Catamounts led 39-35 at the four-minute media timeout.
- As the half closed, Lucas Mari connected with a corner three, sending Vermont into the break up 43-40. Yalden had a team-high 13 points at the break.
- Lucas Mari hit a wide-open right-wing three to open the second half, but Vermont only led 53-52 with 15:36 remaining in the game.
- Sean Blake and TJ Hurley added threes, and Blake drove and got a tough layup to go, as Vermont led only 61-60 at the 12-minute media timeout.
- In the next four minutes, Buffalo exploded on a 16-6 run. Buffalo led 76-67 with eight minutes remaining.
- Vermont stormed back on their own 9-2 run as Vermont only trailed 78-76 thanks to another Hurley three and Sean Blake's layup in transition.
- Buffalo was able to close the game out with Daniel Frietag leading the way with 33 points for the Bulls. Vermont's TJ Hurley fouled out of the game in the last 10 seconds.

- Leading the Catamounts, TJ Hurley scored 24 points, shooting 6-for-10. Yalden recorded a team-high five assists and matched the top mark with five rebounds.
- Sean Blake achieved a career-high 20 points, going 9-for-12 from the field and hitting both of his three-point attempts..
- Gus Yalden, with 17 points, was the only other Catamount in double figures.
- TJ Hurley also contributed a team-high two steals and led Vermont with seven rebounds.
- Vermont outshot Northeastern from the field, 55.4% to 50.9%. The Catamounts were also more accurate from three, 48% to 39.1%.
- Vermont's bench contributed 30 points, outscoring Buffalo's bench, which had 19.
