COACH'S QUOTE
"Washington is a very good team in transition along with attacking the paint," said Mayer Women's Basketball Head Coach Alisa Kresge. "I thought we did a decent job in the first half containing them but we lost our way in the second half."

-
Washington pushed its lead to 11–4 with five seconds left in the first quarter.
-
Senior Jadyn Weltz was fouled driving to the rim and made the first free throw before missing the second, but junior Malia Lenz grabbed the offensive rebound and was fouled on the putback attempt with three seconds remaining. She hit both free throws, cutting the deficit to 11–7 heading into the second quarter.
-
The Huskies opened the second on a 9–0 run before sophomore Savanna Creal absorbed contact and finished a layup at the 4:33 mark.
-
Hanson then scored seven of Vermont's final nine points of the half, capping her run with a baseline fadeaway that trimmed Washington's lead to 26–20 with 1:18 left in the quarter.
-
Washington began to pull away in the third, scoring 11 straight to build a 44–24 advantage with 3:27 remaining. Hanson ended the run with a three-pointer at the 2:59 mark.
-
The teams traded baskets early in the fourth, with a Creal layup answered by a jumper from Husky first-year Brynn McGaughy, followed by a Priede turnaround and a close-range shot from Washington senior Hannah Stines.
-
Hanson and Weltz added back-to-back scores to bring Vermont within 59–37 with 5:44 to play.
