COACH'S QUOTE
"Really proud of the guys today to bounce back after the past two days. For the first time in a long time, I did a hockey substitution five guys off for the starters. I felt like those guys did a good job bringing energy. It was a dog fight down the stretch, and we made some undisciplined fouls. Gus hit a big three and a post move. You could feel TJ Long's will to win today and we got enough stops at the end to win."

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • TJ Long, Gus Yalden, and Ben Johnson each got a three-pointer to go as Vermont got out to an early 13-7 lead with 15:42 remaining.
  • Vermont extended its lead at the 12-minute media timeout thanks to another TJ Long triple and a TJ Hurley fadeaway.
  • The Catamounts maintained control, building a 34-15 lead with 7:23 left, after a TJ Hurley three and a Gus Yalden triple. At the four-minute media timeout, Vermont held a 41-20 lead over Princeton. Gus Yalden knocked down a post fadeaway jumper.
  • Vermont slowed down, scoring only 2 points in the last four minutes. The Catamounts led 43-26 at halftime, with Gus Yalden posting a team-high 14 points. Princeton started out the second half on a 17-4 run to the 15:42 mark.
  • Princeton took a 56-54 lead with 10:09 remaining.
  • The teams traded baskets, with Sean Blake and Gus Yalden scoring in the paint. Princeton still led 61-60 with 7:57 left. Both teams continued to battle back and forth with TJ Long knocking down back-to-back baskets. Princeton still led 69-67 with 3:59 remaining.
  • Gus Yalden would knock down a three and then the next possession a paint bucket to give Vermont a three-point lead with 30 seconds remaining. Princeton was able to get a good-looking three but missed, and Noah Barnett threw down an exclamation point dunk to seal the game.
