COACH'S QUOTE
"Frustrating game for sure," said Head Coach
Steve Wiedler. "Three penalties in the first, two missed back checks in the second, feels like we gave the game away. I have to wear that. As the Head Coach those kind of things are on me. I know we don't coach to play that way, but nonetheless that's what our team did today. If you disrespect the game of hockey with a lack of work ethic, and the small details that matter in winning at this level well then, this game will always humble you."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Vermont came out of the gates strong with several opportunities on their first two shifts of the game. Cédrick Guindon rang a shot of the post 1:12 into the contest.
- The Eagles opened the scoring 6:04 into the first period on the games' first power play opportunity. From the point Lukas Gustafsson fired a wrist shot towards the UVM crease, BC's Will Vote was positioned at the top of the slot, and he redirected puck off the post and in to make 1-0.
- The Eagles doubled their advantage 66 seconds later. Jake Sondreal one-timed a shot from the point that found its way through traffic and deflected off a UVM skate and just inside the post to make it 2-0.
- Nolan Joyce scored his first career goal and Gustafsson added another in the second period to make it 4-0 Eagles after 40 minutes.
- Will Moore closed out the scoring in the third period with his second goal of the season at the 12:54 mark.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- PJ Forgione blocked a game-high four shots Saturday night, including three in the first period.
