BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (6-11-2, 2-6-1 HEA) outshot Holy Cross (13-6-1, 5-5-1 HEA) 28-21 on Friday night, but it was the Crusaders the garnered the 2-0 victory from Gutterson Fieldhouse during Vermont's annual Rally Around Mental Health Game presented by Redstone.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a scoreless first period that saw Zoe Cliche make eight saves for UVM and Abby Hornung collect five for Holy Cross, it was the Crusaders that jumped on the scoreboard first 3:55 into the second frame when Charlotte Sonntag collected her fifth goal of the season, earning Holy Cross the opening 1-0 lead.
- Holy Cross doubled the lead on the power play 15:05 into the middle frame, seeing Violet Carroll notch her team high seventh goal of the season, gaining the 2-0 advantage.
- In the final period, Vermont tallied a game high 13 shots throughout the frame, but Hornung stood tall stopping everything that came her way.
- As the final buzzer rang, the Crusaders ultimately skated away with the 2-0 shutout victory from Gutterson Fieldhouse.

The Catamounts will look to close out their weekend series with the Crusaders, returning to action tomorrow afternoon for a 2 p.m. puck drop from Gutterson Fieldhouse. Saturday's contest will be the team's TD Bank Teddy Bear Toss Game. Fans are encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to toss on the ice during the first intermission.
