Track and Field Travels to New Hampshire for America East Championships

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont Track and Field travels to Durham, N.H., for the America East Championships hosted by New Hampshire on May 3rd and 4th. Lancer Timing will provide the live results. ESPN+ will stream the track events and AmericaEast.TV will stream the field events.

VERMONT WOMEN OUTLOOK

The Catamount women competed at the UMass Preconference Meet last week.
Rachel Barba was the lone Vermont athlete to earn a win. She won the 800-meter race with a time of 2:11.65, which is the eighth fastest in program history.
Barba, Cassandra Royer, Isabella Fryer, Shea Cushing, Samantha Alexander, Morgan Ryan, and Havana Layton recorded top-10 finishes at UMass last weekend.
As a team last year, Vermont women finished in sixth with 80 points. Emma Wapshare and Lily Porth were the two all-conference finishers for the Catamounts in the javelin and steeplechase last year. Wapshare enters the weekend with the second-longest throw in America East this season at 43.43 meters, which ranks sixth all-time.

VERMONT MEN OUTLOOK

The Catamount men had one meet last week, the UMass Preconference Meet.
Alex Garcia and Eli Lammi recorded top 10 marks en route to second and fourth-place finishes, respectively. Garcia ran 54.65 in the 400 hurdles, the sixth fastest in program history. At the same time, Lammi threw the discus 48.97 meters, the second farthest all-time.
Garcia, Conor Moses, Alexander Howarth, Cameron Kirn, and Jameson Sparks all recorded top-10 finishes for the men.
The Vermont men finished eighth last year with 40 points. Sparks was their lone all-conference finisher in the steeplechase. He holds the fastest steeplechase time in America East this season at 9:01.19, the third fastest in program history.
