 "This was a good non-conference test for us tonight against a solid Yale team and I thought the game was pretty evenly matched," said Head Coach Kristi Huizenga. " Our defense collectively was solid again and as the game wore, we were able to start generating more chances. Our players who came into the game gave us a great lift, especially Vanessa saving the penalty."
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• In the first three minutes of the match, Yale's JoJo DeNegri scored a powerful goal from just inside the box.
• In the 10^th minute, Della Weir took a long-distance shot from outside the box that  just missed wide right.
• At the 31^st minute, Sydney Remington took a shot on goal from the right side of the box, which was saved by Yale.
• Mollyana McGuire received a pass from Della Weir on the right side of the box and had a shot on goal, but Yale's goalkeeper made a diving save at the 38^th minute.
• Yale had a 1-0 lead at halftime.
• Off a free kick, Bridget Kennedy took a shot that just went above the crossbar in the 58^th minute.
• At the 70^th minute, Vermont fouled Yale in the box during a corner kick. On Yale's penalty shot, Vanessa Smith made a diving save to her left.
• In the 82^nd minute, Ella Hall took a shot from outside the box that was saved.
   

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Vanessa Smith played the whole 2^nd half and registered two saves in the match.
• Sydney Remington registered two shots on goal.
• Vermont and Yale each recorded nine shots, but Vermont had the edge on shots on goal with five to Yale's four.
• Bridget Kennedy was the only Catamount to play all 90 minutes of action.
