ITHACA, N.Y.– The Catamounts (5-4, 0-0 AE) dropped their second straight game Sunday afternoon, falling 3-2 to unbeaten Cornell (6-0, Ivy League 2-0) at the newly built Marsha Dodson Field.

"I'm proud of the way we battled and fought hard for each other on every play," said head coach Kate Pfeifer. "The two goals were great finishes on corners and showed high intention and adaptability under pressure. While we didn't get the result, we took a big step forward, and hope to build on this as we prepare for conference play next weekend."
HOW IT HAPPENED

After a scoreless first quarter, Cornell broke through in the 26th minute of the game when Sophomore midfielder Delaney Keegan got the Big Red on the board. She netted her first goal of the season on a penalty stroke.

The Big Red doubled their lead in the 33rd minute. An initial shot off a short corner was blocked, but First Year midfielder Emmy Horner was there to put the rebound in the back of the goal.

First-year midfielder Gabby Santini netted her first collegiate goal in the 34th minute, scoring on a backhand shot after gathering a rebound from a blocked corner attempt.

Cornell extended its lead to 3–1 in the 44th minute. Sophomore forward Uma Käding scored off a corner, assisted by Julia Ramsey and Emma Poplyk.

The Catamounts added a late goal in the 59th minute when junior forward Consu de Castro tallied her fifth goal of the season off a assist from Abby Wilber.
