BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont men's soccer Head Coach Adrian Dubois announced on Wednesday afternoon that Travis Brent has joined his staff as an Associate Head Coach. Brent comes to Catamount Country after three seasons as Head Coach of Franklin Pierce University.
"Travis is an outstanding coach and leader, and we're thrilled to welcome him to Vermont," said Head Coach Adrian Dubois. "He has done exceptional work as a head coach at Franklin Pierce, building programs rooted in development, excellence, and genuine care for his players. Travis is a national championship-caliber coach who brings a tremendous work ethic, a sharp soccer mind, and a people-first approach that aligns perfectly with the values of this program and this community. He will be a great asset to our staff and to our student-athletes, and he will help Vermont continue to chase championships."
A native of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Brent arrives in Burlington following a highly successful tenure as head coach at Franklin Pierce University, where he established one of the premier programs in NCAA Division II men's soccer. Over three seasons at the helm, Brent compiled a 45-7-11 overall record and guided the Ravens to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championship.
"I'm incredibly excited and grateful to join the University of Vermont Men's Soccer program and the Burlington community," said Associate Head Coach Travis Brent. "UVM stands for ambition, integrity, and excellence, values that strongly align with who I am as a coach and leader. I believe in building environments rooted in accountability, respect, and effort, where student-athletes are challenged to grow on and off the field. I'm eager to work alongside Coach Dubois and this staff to serve our players, engage our supporters, and help build a program that competes relentlessly as a family through hard work and discipline towards our shared purpose."
In 2023, Brent led Franklin Pierce to a historic undefeated season (21-0-2), capturing the NE10 Regular Season Championship, NE10 Tournament Championship, NCAA DII Regional Championship, and the NCAA Division II National Championship. Brent and his staff were recognized as the NCAA Division II National Coaching Staff of the Year following the title run.
Brent continued that success in 2024 and 2025, guiding the Ravens to 12-win seasons in each campaign and additional NCAA Tournament appearances. Across his tenure, Franklin Pierce earned multiple NE10 All-Conference selections, All-Region honors, and conference individual awards, underscoring Brent's impact on player development and team culture.
Prior to Franklin Pierce, Brent spent four seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Charleston, where the Golden Eagles posted a 71-6-4 record, won four MEC Conference titles, captured two Super Region I championships, and claimed the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship. He also helped guide Charleston to a national runner-up finish in 2021.
Brent's coaching resume includes additional stops at Francis Marion University and extensive experience in the club ranks both domestically and internationally. As a player, he competed professionally in the Netherlands with Heracles Almelo and Almere City FC, as well as in the United States with the Harrisburg City Islanders of the USL Championship. He played collegiately at Marshall University, earning all-conference honors during his career.
Brent holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Marshall University and a master's degree in Strategic Leadership from the University of Charleston.
