BURLNGTON, Vt. – TJ Hurley recorded a career-high 30 points on Thursday evening as Vermont (12-8, 4-1 AE) defeated UMass Lowell (8-12, 3-2 AE) 77-68 from the Kennedy Family Athletic Complex

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Vermont and UMass Lowell traded baskets early, with TJ Hurley scoring five of Vermont's first nine points, including a right-wing three. UMass Lowell led 10-9 at the first media timeout.
  • Noah Barnett returned from injury and scored on a layup, giving Vermont a 13-12 lead with 11:31 left in the first half.
  • Ben Johnson then knocked down a corner three, giving the Catamounts an offensive boost and keeping them ahead with 7:14 left in the half.
  • Sean Blake drove along the baseline and passed to TJ Hurley in the right corner, where Hurley sank a three-pointer to give the Catamounts a 32-24 lead heading into the final media timeout of the half.
