HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a flurry of Vermont chances Andoni Fimis opened the scoring for the Catamounts 12:18 into the first period. Fimis took a feed from down low from Max Strand before skating along the blue line and ripping a wrist shot in the top corner through traffic. Jonah Aegerter earned the secondary assist on the tally.
- The Terriers equalized 2:26 later to make it 1-1 on Jack Murtagh's second goal of the season. Tynan Lawrence cut to the outside of the UVM defense before centering a feed from behind the net that Murtagh one-timed home.
- After a back-and-forth second period the Terriers appeared to take the lead with 39.6 seconds left in the middle frame, but it was disallowed for goaltender interference. Lawrence put the puck in the net, but it was after a BU forward knocked UVM's Jacob Oster out of his crease. BU used their challenge on the play and after video review the on-ice call was confirmed.
- Vermont took the lead 8:10 into the third period. In transition Matteo Michels threw the puck on net from the point and BU's Mikhail Yegorov made the stop but left a juicy rebound and Zach Filak crashed the net and stashed it home. Daniel Sambuco earned the secondary assist on the play.
- Boston University pulled its goalie for the extra attacker for the final 2:03 of game action. The Catamounts defense was suffocating allowing just one shot on goal to preserve UVM's first win of the young season.
