COACH'S QUOTE
"Went toe-to-toe with #11 in the country for two straight games," said Head Coach
Steve Wiedler. "I was proud of our effort and intensity level. We played to our standard. Tough break at the end today, it stings to lose in that fashion, but big picture it reaffirms a lot of things for our program and locker room. The level of buy in we saw this weekend will be something to build off of." Â

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Catamounts almost jumped in front right from the get-go Saturday night. Colin Kessler broke in alone on BU's Mikhail Yegorov and rang a shot off the post 3:46 into the first period.
- Boston University had two first period power plays, but the Catamounts shut them down, preventing a shot on goal. In the first period UVM blocked nine Terriers shots.
- Vermont opened the scoring with 2:42 left in the second period. In the Vermont zone Max Strand passed along the boards to Mathias Loiselle, Loiselle tapped it past the BU defender, and the Catamounts were off to the races. Loiselle and Jonah Aegerter broke into the BU zone on a two-on-two rush. Loiselle fed a cross-ice pass to Aegerter, and he redirected it past Yegorov to make it 1-0.
- In the final moments of the third period with the goalie pulled for the second straight night BU was finally able to beat UVM's Jacob Oster. Ryder Ritchie scored his first goal of the season with 56 seconds left in regulation. His wrist shot from the point was perfectly placed through traffic and found the top corner. Jack Harvey and Tynan Lawrence earned assists on the tally.
- The Catamounts headed to overtime for the first time this season. Kessler was again inches from finding the back of the net. He fired against the grain skating to his left and firing back to the right and Yegorov just got a pad on it.
- The ensuing rebound was quickly passed up to Ritchie who was alone ahead of the play. As he cut in on Oster with a furious UVM backcheck right behind him he scored his second of the night along the ice to complete the BU comeback.
