BURLINGTON, Vt. – No. 12 Vermont (7-1-3, 1-0-1 AE) battled NJIT (5-4-2, 1-0-1 AE) to a hard-fought draw on Saturday Night on Virtue Field during UVM Alumni weekend. With the result, the Catamounts remain unbeaten at home and improved to 5-0-2 on home turf.

"NJIT was very good today and deserves a lot of credit," said Head Coach Adrian Dubois. "We didn't start the match at our level, but I was pleased with our second-half response and the way we grew into the game. There are important lessons for us to take from today, and we understand that nothing is given at this level. Next time out, we need to be better from the opening whistle and earn the result we want."
HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the fifth minute of play, NJIT's Diogo Rebelo opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season assisted by Jake Rubis and Jeremy Klinger.
- At halftime, the Highlanders held their 1-0 lead.
- Vermont tied up the game in the 60th minute when Philipp Schmidtke found the back of the net off a through ball from David Ismail. Ezra Widman added the second assist.
- Despite many offensive efforts from the Catamounts, they were unable to take the lead. The match ended in a hard-fought 1-1 draw.
