BURLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont (4-4) fell 10-2 to Fairfield (5-3) during UVM's final game of a three-game homestand from Virtue Field on Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday's contest was the team's Pride Game and Spread Respect game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Fairfield's Charlotte Loughlin opened scoring with 10:27 on the clock in the first quarter, her sixth goal of the season, earning the Stags the 1-0 lead.
- The Catamounts responded a little over six minutes later while being a woman-up, seeing Karina Sethi find Caitlin Haggerty in the slot who fired in her 12th goal of the season, knotting the score at 1-1 with 4:21 left on the clock in the opening frame.
- As the second quarter rolled on, Fairfield was able to find the back of the net for back-to-back goals as Loughlin scored her second of the game followed by Lizzie Getz notching her second of the season, earning the Stags a 3-1 advantage with 5:27 remaining before halftime.
- With just 58 second remaining in the second quarter, Maddie Erskine recorded her first goal of the season in her first game of the campaign on a free position shot while Vermont was a woman-up, cutting the deficit to one goal, 3-2, in favor of Fairfield.
- Kit Zanelli scored for Fairfield with just one second left to play before halftime, seeing the Stags take a 4-2 advantage into halftime. Haley Burns earned an assist on Fairfield's fourth goal of the game.
- Fairfield held the Vermont offense to zero goals throughout the entire second half, orchestrating six unanswered goals throughout the third and fourth quarter as the Stags walked away with the 10-2 road victory from Virtue Field.
